For the next 2 weeks Destiny 2 is completely free to play, even the stuff you normally have to pay for

Destiny 2 is free to perform so you can unleash your divine genocide of alien races at anytime without spending a dime, but naturally some beautiful big parts of the game are locked behind expansions that cost money.

For the next two weeks, though, you can observe everything it has to suggest thanks to the newly-started "open access," which makes "all currently available Destiny 2 expansions," along with all three currently accessible Destiny 2 Episodes, free to play for everyone.

I don't notice this as a huge deal for complete newcomers to Destiny 2, because believe me there's plenty to do in the parts of the game that are normally free anyway. But if you've been in for a while, you're not sure if you want to form a financial commitment, but you're curious, well, these next two weeks are for you.

How often do the expansions go on sale?

I am sort of getting back into Destiny 2. After leaving for a while (especially after they sunsetted the content I paid $100 for back when the game first came out), I wiped all my characters, deleted everything in my vault / store-items-thing, and am starting fresh.

It honestly has been pretty fun playing through the new intro quests and playing through the forsaken dlc (I had that from 2 years ago), and I am genuinely considering getting back into the game fully.

So, I honestly really, really dislike that the content I paid for before is no longer in the game, but I was thinking about it, and, with the exception of the raids (I have no friends and finding groups for someone who doesn't know what they're doing isn't as fun as it might seem), I did get about 120~ out of (a bit more than the "dollars spent : hours enjoyed" ratio I aim for). Considering that the game came out 5~ years ago, I can sort of see why they sunsetted that content and are cycling through content as it goes, and if I can get more into the endgame of destiny 2 I might pick up the other expansions I am missing.
