Friends of Mile Oak (FOMO) Our PTA
Our next event is...
Friends of Mile Oak is our Parent and Teacher Association made up of a very small group of Mums and Dads of children who attend our school.
A Parent and Teacher Association is an organisation of parents and staff, its role is to encourage closer links between home and institution. PTAs are best known for their fundraising work, but they have a useful social function too. Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together.
All parents and carers are automatically members of FOMO when their child starts school with us at Mile Oak. We hold regular meetings to speak ongoing fundraising plans and all parents are invited to attend.
We are a registered charity and have three post-holders:

- Treasurer - Sarah Leaver
- Secretary - Leanne Jones
Previously donated funds have helped towards the purchase of:
- The new running track
- A new projector for the Infant hall
- The Reception play area
- Class Christmas gifts
- New picnic benches

Amazon Career Choice CDL Program
Amazon Career Choice Benefits
The specific benefits depend on program eligibility. Roadmaster Drivers School is a covered program, so you can qualify for up to 100-percent tuition coverage for you to train to receive your CDL. For other programs, you may receive partial assistance for tuition, books, and fees.
How To Become Eligible for the Program
In order to apply for tuition coverage through this program, you must first be hired as an Amazon hourly employee. You must also be employed for at least 90 days. The specific programs covered by this program vary, so you may need to apply or wait for approval if you’re applying to a program that isn’t part of the approved partner network.
While this program isn’t currently available for salaried Amazon employees, you won’t be dismissed from the program if you’re promoted during your Career Choice Program studies. Instead, you can still continue to receive tuition assistance for your program until you complete it.
Amazon Pathways
Do you want to become a leader in a global company? Do you want to manage challenging problems with global impact while coaching hundreds of employees? As part of the Pathways Operations Leadership Development Program, you can be on track to reach senior levels within Amazon Operations.
Summer Internship
Interns will be assigned to a site in our operations network. You’ll complete a project that exposes you to high-level leadership and complex project execution. Your internship will last 10 to 12 weeks. At the end, you can be considered to return as a full-time Pathways leader (based on business need) after you complete your graduate studies.
Operations Manager
In the full-time role, you’ll start in the Area Manager Experience, when you’ll have an opportunity to get to know your site. Then you’ll lead teams of 300 to 500 members, or a new site or business type. You’ll improve the efficiency of the operations processes, supported by our engineering and tech teams.
