In this session, William Ferreira explores how established and emerging molecular techniques—like qPCR, isothermal amplification, and NGS—can be adapted using ambient-stable reagents to authorize rapid, scalable, and cost-effective testing at the point of tend . William is an R&D Team Leader at Meridian Life Science. He earned his PhD in molecular microbiology in 2019, investigating C. difficile pathogenesis at Royal Holloway, University of London, UK. Subsequently, he held the position of Senior Scientist at Sporegen Ltd, leading diverse research projects

With Eudamed lacking a functional Clinical Investigations and Performance Studies module, sponsors must navigate individual national procedures, submitting applications, modification notifications, and final reports to each Member State where CDx studies are conducted. This presentation addresses these challenges and offers insights into solutions derived from supporting pharmaceutical and diagnostic manufacturers engaged in combined studies across the EU.
